UFC 328 left a significant mark on the fight roster, with 11 athletes now facing indefinite medical suspensions following the action-packed event at Newark's Prudential Center. The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board has released the full list, and it's a tough read for fight fans.

Newly crowned middleweight champion Sean Strickland tops the list after his split-decision victory over Khamzat Chimaev. Strickland, who has been open about shoulder issues, now needs orthopedist clearance for his left hand before he can step back into the Octagon. At minimum, he's sidelined for 45 days with 30 days of no contact. Chimaev fared better health-wise, receiving a standard 45-day term with 30 days of no contact.

The co-main event delivered fireworks but also hefty suspensions. Flyweight champion Joshua Van, who stopped Tatsuro Taira via fifth-round TKO, must get his left hand cleared by an orthopedist. Taira faces an even steeper climb—he needs a CT scan and has a mandatory 90-day suspension with 60 days of no contact due to the knockout loss.

Other notable names on the indefinite list include veteran Jeremy Stephens (groin clearance needed), Grant Dawson (requiring x-rays on his right tibia), and Jim Miller (left hand clearance). Osman Diaz must see an ophthalmologist for his right eye, while Mateusz Rebecki needs a physician to clear a laceration near his left eye. Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Joaquin Buckley received shorter suspensions, and Jared Gordon got off relatively light with 30 days.

For fighters and fans alike, these suspensions serve as a stark reminder of the sport's physical toll. Stay tuned for updates as these athletes work toward medical clearance and their eventual returns to the cage.
