The San Francisco 49ers just got a bit more biblical on Saturday.
In the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, they drafted Washington's Ephesians Prysock.
"I found very little not to like about Prysock," ESPN's Louis Riddick said of the 139th pick. "... He's made of the right stuff."
He's certainly got a unique name. There's never been an Ephesians in the NFL before.

The origin story of Prysock's name doesn't appear to be on the Internet, so hopefully someone asks him after the draft.
But it seems like it has to be based on the book of the Bible, Ephesians.
Ephesians is actually a letter, written by the apostle Paul to the people of Ephesus in the early days of the Christian church.
The most famous verse is a popular one in Protestant teaching -- Ephesians 2:8-9 -- "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

Prysock is a big cornerback out of the University of Washington who previously played at the University of Arizona.
His long arms make him an intriguing NFL Draft prospect, and based on the praise during the broadcast, this seems like a good pick for the 49ers.
