The One-Day Cup is heating up, and The Blaze are leading the charge after a dominant performance that has them sitting pretty at the top of the table. Their fourth win in five games came in emphatic fashion, thrashing Durham by 92 runs in a match that showcased both batting grit and bowling brilliance.

Opting to bat first in Chester-le-Street, The Blaze found themselves in a spot of bother at 91-5. But captain Kirstie Gordon, who is averaging an incredible 138 this season, played a captain's knock with a composed 60 not out. A crucial 83-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Lucy Higham (32) helped them post a competitive 240-8 off their 50 overs.

That total proved more than enough. Charley Phillips tore through Durham's top order, finishing with a maiden List A five-wicket haul of 5-49. Durham were reduced to 51-6 and, despite Grace Thompson's battling 49, were bowled out for just 148, handing The Blaze victory with over 10 overs to spare.

The win sees The Blaze leapfrog Hampshire, who suffered their first defeat of the campaign at the hands of Lancashire. Hampshire had been unbeaten in all three completed matches this season, while Lancashire were on a three-game losing streak—but form went out the window at Emirates Old Trafford.

After winning the toss, Lancashire produced a disciplined bowling display, taking wickets at regular intervals. Hampshire could only manage a top score of 32 from Amanda-Jane Wellington, bowled out for just 153 in the 43rd over. Kate Cross led the way with 3-31. In reply, a commanding first-wicket partnership of 93 between Emma Lamb (56) and Eve Jones (47) set the platform for a comfortable six-wicket victory, chased down with 16.3 overs to spare.

Elsewhere, Essex made it two wins from two, edging past Yorkshire by 13 runs in a tight contest. Warwickshire also secured a solid 34-run victory over Somerset, with batter Charis Pavely continuing her rich vein of form, hitting her second century in just four days.

With the One-Day Cup table taking shape, The Blaze have set the standard—but with plenty of cricket left to play, the race for the title is far from over.
