Payton Pritchard put on a show during the Boston Celtics' 128-96 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
Pritchard led all scorers with 32 points, establishing a new career playoff high. He shot 12-for-21 from the floor, including 6-for-12 from beyond the arc. He also contributed five assists, four rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes of action, helping the Celtics outscore the 76ers by 20 points when he was on the floor.
Pritchard's signature highlight was a deep buzzer beater three to end the first quarter, putting Boston up 34-18 at the time and giving his team some major momentum heading into the second quarter.
The 28-year-old guard's dazzling performance even got a rise out of retired Celtics broadcaster Mike Gorman, causing him to break his silence on social media.
Payton Pritchard makes me want to come back! ☘️ @celtics
"Payton Pritchard makes me want to come back!" Gorman exclaimed on X.
That was Gorman's first post on X during Boston's playoff run and his first post since March 31. The 78-year-old retired two years ago and rarely posts on social media anymore, as Sunday's post was just his third in the last calendar year.
Accordingly, he must have been pretty fired up about Pritchard, who has a knack for hitting buzzer beaters.
