Kieran McKenna has described Ipswich Town's promotion to the Premier League as the toughest challenge of his three promotions at the helm. After a commanding 3-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at home, McKenna's squad secured second place in the Championship, earning an immediate return to the top flight following last season's relegation.

"It means a lot, I have to say," McKenna reflected. "It's probably been the hardest one if I'm honest. It's brilliant." The manager emphasized the grit required to turn the club's fortunes around. "I know how hard we've had to work. As a club, we had such a climb and a steep fall. We've had to rebuild this team under difficult circumstances, and we deserve to be where we are today."

Ipswich wasted no time in their final Championship fixture, striking twice within the first ten minutes through George Hirst and Jaden Philogene. "I thought we were incredible," McKenna added. "It was an incredible start, though we didn't manage to maintain that. To have a third promotion at home in four years and see so many happy faces—it's special."

The season didn't begin with the same explosive energy. Ipswich started slowly, a common pitfall in the demanding Championship campaign. However, McKenna's side steadily found their rhythm, peaking at the perfect moment. "We started slow, which can happen, but we've steadily improved over the course of the year. We showed it on Tuesday at Southampton and again today. It's about how you finish."

For now, McKenna is savoring the moment rather than looking ahead. "I'm going to enjoy this one. I'm not going to start thinking about the Premier League today." As Ipswich fans celebrate a remarkable turnaround, the club's journey from League One to the Premier League in just four seasons stands as a testament to resilience and teamwork—a story that resonates with anyone who loves the beautiful game.
