In a heart-pounding finish at Texas Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson held off a determined Justin Allgaier to claim victory in Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race. The win marks another highlight for JR Motorsports, whose drivers have now taken the checkered flag in seven of the first 12 races of the 2026 season.
Larson, celebrating his second win of the year, made it look like a masterclass in patience and precision. This is his 19th career O'Reilly Series victory and his third at Texas—a track that clearly suits his racing style. But it wasn't a smooth ride to the front. The race kicked off with chaos, as three multi-car wrecks unfolded within the first 20 laps. The mayhem started on lap one when the JGR duo of Taylor Gray and Sawalich spun out, while Corey Day slammed into the outside wall, ending his day early.
On the restart, things stayed calm for just one lap before Austin Green and Mason Maggio spun at Turn 2. In a bizarre moment, Maggio tried to rejoin the race but drove directly in front of the Chevrolet Corvette pace car, forcing it to take evasive action. A few laps later, Brad Perez crashed hard on the frontstretch, collecting Green and Lavar Scott in the process.
At the front, tensions flared between JR Motorsports teammates. Allgaier and Larson crowded each other on the front row, even making contact. But Allgaier had the edge on the restart, powering through to win Stage 1 ahead of Zilisch, Larson, Brandon Jones, Brent Crews, Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Austin Hill, Jesse Love, and Jeremy Clements.
Stage 2 saw Larson grab the lead early, only for Zilisch to overtake him shortly after. The caution flag flew again when Austin Dillon cut a tire, scattering debris across the track. Zilisch went on to win the stage, beating Crews, Allgaier, Larson, Mayer, Jones, Retzlaff, Hill, Creed, and Sawalich.
The final stage brought the drama fans live for. Larson challenged Zilisch for the lead in a three-wide battle that had everyone on their feet. Larson got loose but held his nerve, while Crews made an aggressive move to dive into the mix. In the end, it was Larson who crossed the line first, with Allgaier close behind in a 1-2 finish for JR Motorsports. Sam Mayer took third, followed by Brent Crews and Parker Retzlaff. Sheldon Creed, Austin Hill, Brandon Jones, Jesse Love, and Jeremy Clements rounded out the top ten.
Adding to the excitement, Crews also pocketed the $100,000 Dash4Cash bonus prize—a sweet reward for a hard-fought day at the office.
