Joel Embiid had 34 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 109-100 victory over the host Boston Celtics in Game 7.

In a stunning playoff performance, Joel Embiid delivered a masterclass with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a thrilling 109-100 Game 7 victory over the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. The win marked a historic moment for the franchise, as Philadelphia became the first team in Sixers history to overcome a 3-1 series deficit, winning the final three games to knock off the second-seeded Celtics on their home floor.

Tyrese Maxey was equally electric, dropping 30 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, including a crucial eight-point burst in the final seconds that sealed the deal. After Boston's Neemias Queta hit two free throws to cut the lead to 99-98, Maxey took over, scoring eight unanswered points to push the Sixers ahead 107-98 with just 15 seconds left on the clock. Rookie VJ Edgecombe also made his presence felt with 23 points, while Paul George chipped in 13. The Sixers' bench contributed just three points, all from Quentin Grimes, but the starters' firepower was more than enough.

The Celtics were dealt a major blow before tip-off, as star forward Jayson Tatum was ruled out due to stiffness in his left knee. Tatum, who had been averaging 23.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in the playoffs, exited Game 6 early with a left leg injury and couldn't suit up for the decisive matchup. The six-time All-Star had only recently returned from a devastating ruptured right Achilles tendon suffered last May, and his absence loomed large.

Jaylen Brown tried to carry the load for Boston, finishing with 33 points and nine rebounds, while Derrick White added 26 points. Neemias Queta provided a spark off the bench with 17 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. However, the Celtics' starting lineup struggled mightily, with Baylor Scheierman, Luka Garza, and Ron Harper Jr. all failing to score. Reserves Payton Pritchard (13 points) and Sam Hauser (11) offered some support, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Sixers' relentless attack.

Philadelphia came out firing, scoring the first nine points of the game and building a 30-15 lead after an Embiid jumper late in the first quarter. They held a 32-19 edge after 12 minutes, but Boston roared back in the second, scoring 18 of the first 22 points to take a 37-36 lead on a Pritchard three-pointer with 6:52 left in the half. The Sixers regrouped and went into the break with a 55-50 advantage.

The third quarter saw Philadelphia take control once again, using an 8-0 run to push the lead to 63-52. An Edgecombe three-pointer with 2:24 remaining in the period made it 84-66, and the Sixers seemed to be cruising. But the Celtics refused to go quietly, mounting a furious comeback that set the stage for Maxey's heroics in the final minute. For the 76ers, this series win is a testament to their resilience and a statement that they're ready to compete with the best in the East.
