It usually takes a few days for full undrafted free agent classes to take shape.

But you can tell by who signs quickly which players were real priorities.

The New York Jets signed Caullin Lacy very quickly.

The deal was reported only minutes after the 2026 NFL Draft ended, and it now shows up in the NFL's official UDFA tracker.

Lacy is a wide receiver and return man from the University of Louisville.

In 2025, he had 60 catches for 635 yards while also rushing 15 times for 53 yards.

The full scope of his ability only comes through when you add his return stats: Lacy led the ACC in punt return yardage (454) and punt return touchdowns (2). He also averaged 21 yards per kick return.

Lacy certainly comes aboard with plenty of experience. He spent his first four college seasons at South Alabama, culminating in a 1,316 receiving yard season in 2023 for those Jaguars before transferring for two seasons with the Cardinals.

Lacy had also led the Sun Belt in punt return yardage before his transfer, so he clearly has had that skillset for a long time.

The Jets don't have the strongest WR room by any stretch, so Lacy might be able to make a case to get on the field on offense, too.

But they surely brought him aboard in part because of those return skills, and it'll be up to Lacy to prove that those can translate into the NFL.
