Gavin Williams struck out 11 over seven innings to push his majors-leading total 40, Brayan Rocchio hit a three-run homer and the Cleveland Guardians beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 on Saturday. Williams (3-1) allowed a run on three hits and walked one in a dominant outing. José Ramírez stole his 10th base in the first inning, becoming the first player to reach double digits this year.

Gavin Williams delivered a masterclass on the mound Saturday, striking out 11 Baltimore Orioles over seven dominant innings to lead the Cleveland Guardians to a 4-2 victory. The young right-hander now leads the majors with 40 strikeouts, showcasing the electric stuff that makes him one of baseball's most exciting pitchers.

Williams (3-1) was in complete control, allowing just one run on three hits and a single walk. This marked his sixth career double-digit strikeout performance, a testament to his ability to overpower hitters. His command set the tone, allowing the Guardians' offense time to find its rhythm.

That breakthrough came in the fifth inning. After Baltimore took a 1-0 lead on a Leody Taveras solo homer, Cleveland's Brayan Rocchio stepped up with two outs and two men on. Rocchio lined a three-run shot to right field, a clutch swing that provided all the runs Williams would need.

The Guardians also saw a milestone on the basepaths, as star third baseman José Ramírez stole his 10th base of the season in the first inning, making him the first player in MLB to reach double digits this year—a perfect display of his elite combination of power and speed.

Baltimore's Gunnar Henderson hit a solo homer in the eighth to cut the lead to 3-2, but Cleveland's Bo Naylor immediately answered with his first home run of the season in the bottom half of the inning. Closer Cade Smith then slammed the door in the ninth, striking out the side for his fifth save to secure the win.
