Iwan Roberts says Newport County have the kindest fixture of all the sides in the League Two relegation scrap as they prepare for Saturday's season-defining trip to Barrow (15:00 BST). Newport, in 21st, and 20th-placed Tranmere are a point better off than Harrogate and Crawley.

The pressure is on as five League Two clubs battle to avoid the drop on the final day of the season, and according to former Wales striker Iwan Roberts, Newport County have the most favorable path to survival.

The Exiles sit 21st, just one point ahead of Harrogate and Crawley, who occupy the relegation spots. Tranmere, in 20th, are also looking nervously over their shoulder. But as Roberts explains, Newport's trip to bottom-club Barrow could be the lifeline they need.

"Crawley have got to go to Salford, who are fourth and one point off automatic promotion," Roberts said on the Feast of Football podcast. "Barnet go to Harrogate. Barnet are ninth, three points off the play-offs, and have won 19 points from their last seven games."

He added: "Tranmere are not out of it. They host Grimsby—you have the worst defence in the division against the second top scorers. Grimsby are sixth and not guaranteed a play-off place, so they have everything to play for."

Barrow, meanwhile, are rooted to the bottom, three points adrift of safety with a goal difference 12 worse than Crawley's. "They are not getting out of it," Roberts said. "So Newport have got the easier game, but the pressure is still on them."

A win at Barrow would guarantee Newport's survival, though other results could also keep them up. The Welsh side showed fighting spirit last weekend with a dramatic victory over Oldham Athletic, but they haven't managed back-to-back league wins all season. As Roberts put it: "What a good time to do it this would be."
