Charles Oliveira isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The BMF champion has just signed a massive new eight-fight deal with the UFC, ensuring fans will see "Do Bronx" competing well into his 40s.
Oliveira's coach, Diego Lima, broke the news to Ag. Fight, revealing the former lightweight king put pen to paper after his dominant victory over Max Holloway at UFC 326 in March. "We renewed the contract for eight more fights," Lima said with a laugh. "So we'll have Charles fights until he's 40. For those who said he was going to retire, they'll have to wait a bit longer."
The 36-year-old Brazilian—who turns 37 in October—has been on an absolute tear, winning 15 of his last 18 octagon appearances. Currently riding a two-fight winning streak, Oliveira's promotional record now stands at an impressive 25-11 with one no-contest. That's the kind of consistency that makes him a fan favorite and a nightmare matchup for anyone in the lightweight division.
Lima couldn't hide his excitement about the terms, calling it "a wonderful contract. Wonderful. I don't have a bad thing to say. It was an incredible negotiation."
While the UFC hasn't officially announced Oliveira's next opponent, the man himself has made it crystal clear: he wants the 155-pound championship belt. And he won't have to wait long to see who holds it next. On June 14, Ilia Topuria will defend his title against interim champion Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC White House. Oliveira will be watching closely, ready to stake his claim for the winner.
For a fighter who once held the lightweight record for most submission wins and most finishes in title fights, this new chapter is just another step in an already legendary career. The BMF belt is around his waist, the contract is signed, and the hunger is still there. Charles Oliveira is far from done.
