The Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their defensive line with a familiar face, agreeing to a one-year contract with veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell. The 39-year-old, who spent the 2025-26 season with the Arizona Cardinals, is set to return to Baltimore after a three-year stint with the team from 2020 to 2023.
Campbell, a six-time Pro Bowl selection and 2017 first-team All-Pro, brings a wealth of experience to the Ravens' defense as he enters his 19th NFL season. Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 315 pounds, he has been a dominant force on the edge and interior, with 117 career sacks—the fourth-most among active players. His durability is impressive, having appeared in 17 games each of the last three seasons, including stints with the Atlanta Falcons (2023), Miami Dolphins (2024), and most recently the Cardinals.
In the 2025-26 season with Arizona, Campbell recorded 43 combined tackles, nine tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, and two passes defensed. Originally drafted by the Cardinals as a second-round pick in 2008, he also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017 to 2019, where he earned Pro Bowl honors each season and was a runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year in his first year with the team.
This reunion adds depth and leadership to a Ravens defense that is gearing up for a competitive season. With rookie minicamp set for Friday and Saturday, followed by organized team activities starting May 18, and mandatory minicamp on June 9-10, Campbell's return provides a solid foundation as the team prepares for the upcoming campaign. For fans and players alike, his presence is a reminder of the grit and experience that can make a difference in the trenches.
