The Bemidji Aerials gymnastics team soared to new heights at the Minnesota State Competition, held March 27-29 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The team showcased remarkable depth and talent across the Gold, Platinum, and Diamond divisions, proving their dedication in one of the season's most challenging meets.
The Gold Division was a powerhouse for Bemidji, with 15 athletes delivering standout all-around performances. The team's strength was on full display, led by top scorers like Ainsley Petersen (35.725), Tori Duresky (35.325), and a trio of gymnasts—Scarlett Bodenheimer, Isabella Hagman, and Morgan Jacobson—who each posted impressive 35.05 all-around scores.
The momentum continued in the Platinum Division, where Letty Josefson, Marlie Ophus, and Paisley Workman all delivered strong, consistent routines. The competition culminated in the Diamond Division, where Lucy Karpinski shone brightly with an outstanding all-around score of 36.1, joined by teammate Aaliyah Wellcome.
This state meet, featuring the best gymnasts from across Minnesota, highlighted the Aerials' incredible growth and technical precision. For athletes and fans alike, performances like these are the result of countless hours of practice, passion, and the right gear to support every twist and turn.
