Michal Postava stopped 30 shots in the Grand Rapids Griffins' 2-0 win over the Manitoba Moose in Game 2 of their playoff series.

The Grand Rapids Griffins are heading back to Michigan with a tied series and all the momentum after a dominant 2-0 shutout victory over the Manitoba Moose on Sunday. This win evens the best-of-five Calder Cup Playoff series at 1-1, setting up a thrilling return to Van Andel Arena.

Goaltender Michal Postava was the story of the game, turning aside all 30 shots he faced to secure his fifth shutout of the season. It's a historic performance—this marks the first playoff shutout for the Griffins franchise since Jared Coreau accomplished the feat back in 2018. Postava, who made 22 saves in a tight 1-0 loss in Game 1, now boasts an incredible 0.50 goals-against average and a .981 save percentage through two postseason starts. The 24-year-old undrafted rookie from Czechia is proving to be a wall when it matters most.

Offensively, the Griffins got a spark from Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, who factored into both goals. He broke the ice with a power-play tally late in the first period, ending a shutout streak of over 74 minutes for Manitoba netminder Domenic DiVincentiis, who had stopped 39 shots in the series opener. Then, with just over five minutes left in the third period, Brandsegg-Nygard sent a lead pass to a streaking William Wallinder, who gained the zone and snapped a quick wrist shot that deflected off a Manitoba defender's stick and past DiVincentiis for a crucial insurance goal.

The Moose pulled their goalie for an extra attacker with about three minutes remaining, but they couldn't manage a single shot on Postava, as the Griffins' defense clamped down to preserve the shutout. The victory snaps a five-game playoff losing streak for Grand Rapids dating back to 2024 and gives the team a huge boost of confidence.

Now the series shifts to Grand Rapids, where the Griffins will look to take control on home ice. Game 3 is Wednesday at 7 p.m., followed by Game 4 on Friday at 7 p.m. If necessary, a decisive Game 5 would be played Saturday at 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena. For fans heading to the games, be sure to gear up in your Griffins best to show your support as the team battles for a spot in the next round.
