Arne Slot has heaped praise on Alexander Isak, calling the striker a "top level" talent and expressing confidence that the Swedish forward can revitalize Liverpool's attack.

Isak's debut season at Anfield has been challenging, marked by a lack of pre-season preparation and a serious injury that limited his impact. The record signing has managed just four goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, but his recent strike in Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend offered a glimpse of his potential—his first goal since returning from a four-month layoff.

Ahead of this weekend's Premier League showdown against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Slot highlighted Isak's ability to make a difference once he reaches full fitness. The Liverpool manager noted that the team has struggled with "converting chances to goals" this season, a problem he believes Isak can help solve.

"Having Alex more available helps. He is top level," Slot said during his pre-match press conference on Friday. "In general, having more players available will help with consistency. At the moment, not playing three times in seven days also helps."

Slot emphasized that Liverpool's finishing has been a persistent issue. "Converting chances to goals is something we have not done well this whole season. One of the players that we thought could [Isak] has hardly been available. Last week you saw with a chance, which wasn't the biggest we've had this season, he finished it really well."

The manager also acknowledged the absence of Mohamed Salah, a proven goalscorer, for Sunday's match but remains optimistic about Isak's contributions. "Scoring a goal is vital for setting you up in the right way. Happy to have Alex back. It is unfortunate we don't have Mo, who has been a great goalscorer over the years, on Sunday. Alex and some other players have not scored the amount of goals I think they are capable of, or have done in previous years. That will go back to normal at some point. The sooner, the better."

For Liverpool fans, Isak's return couldn't come at a better time. As the team looks to build momentum in the Premier League, having a fit and confident striker could be the key to unlocking their attacking potential.
