The Minnesota Timberwolves had plenty of lulls during the regular season, seemingly coasting at times while struggling to recapture the form that fueled them to consecutive Western Conference finals appearances over the last two years. The postseason switch sure got flipped against the rival Denver Nuggets, as the players promised all along. The energy and urgency was never greater than in the series-clinching Game 6 victory on Thursday, when the determined Timberwolves shook off the absence of their three best guards and beat the Nuggets 110-98.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have found their playoff mojo at the perfect time. After a regular season filled with inconsistency and occasional coasting, the team that reached consecutive Western Conference finals has finally flipped the switch. And they did it in emphatic fashion against their rivals, the Denver Nuggets.

Thursday's series-clinching Game 6 victory was a masterclass in determination. Despite missing their three best guards—Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo, and Ayo Dosunmu—the Timberwolves powered through for a commanding 110-98 win. The energy and urgency on display were unmatched, proving that this team knows how to rise to the occasion when it matters most.

"Still part of our growth," said head coach Chris Finch. "We've been really good with the high moments. Our consistency sometimes throughout the season isn't always there, which we don't really like about ourselves, but we know we have it in ourselves to meet these moments."

Leading the charge was sixth-year forward Jaden McDaniels, who has become the heart and soul of this Timberwolves squad. Known for his tenacious defense, McDaniels spent the series hounding All-Star guard Jamal Murray, limiting him to just 4-for-17 shooting in Game 6. But it was his offensive explosion that stole the show. With the team's scoring burden on his shoulders, McDaniels poured in 32 points on 13-for-25 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds.

"What I was the most proud about him was just his emotional control, being able to stay poised, not overreact to adversity, calls or missed shots, or mistakes," teammate Rudy Gobert said. "He stayed present, and he stepped up big time when we needed him the most, so I'm really, really proud of him."

McDaniels added extra spice to this already heated rivalry early in the series with his "bad defenders" comment aimed at the Nuggets. He's made no secret of the extra motivation he gets from seeing Denver across the court. Now, with the Nuggets dispatched, the Timberwolves advance to face the San Antonio Spurs in what promises to be another thrilling playoff matchup.

For a team that has struggled with consistency, this postseason run is proving that when the lights are brightest, the Timberwolves know how to shine. And with McDaniels leading the way, they're showing no signs of slowing down.
