Former New York Yankees closer Devin Williams has been dealing with adversity over the past year and a half, as he hasn't done what's needed on the mound in either stop in New York.

Now with the New York Mets, the once-dominant right-hander has been brutal once again. Williams will have to figure things out if he wants to turn this season around, as the Mets desperately need him to. He's blown multiple games now over the past week, allowing seven earned runs in the last 1.1 innings, which have spanned over three outings.

Speaking on Tuesday about everything this organization has gone through over the past week or so, once losers of 12 straight, Williams didn't really seem like he had a lot of answers to the problem.

Instead, he's just hoping that this thing will get figured out the way it's supposed to, no matter how that looks.

“It’s tough. I don’t know, I’ve never been a part of something like this. I think we just need to get the one win out of the way and I think everything else will take care of itself, but it’s obviously proving pretty difficult right now,” Williams said, per SNY.

While these guys make a lot of money, and I know people like to bring that up, it's important to remember that they're still people at the end of the day. Williams is clearly going through a rather tough time and, just like a normal person, wants things to get better. He'll be a big part of that, so he needs to dig down deep and start giving it his best on the bump.
