The two behemoths locked up like a clash of titans as fans chanted for Oba. They locked up a second time as Brock Lesnar Backed Oba down, only for Oba to shove him off for another stalemate.
Brock Lesnar shoved Oba into the corner, but Oba shoved Brock shades of the Goldberg squash from Survivor Series 2016. Brock took a beat on the outside, and as Oba pursued, Brock dropped him over the second rope. Brock threw Oba into the stairs. When the match returned to the ring, Brock hit three suplexes. Oba elbowed his way out of the fourth and pounded Brock with several running elbows in the corner.
Brock hit the F5, but Oba got right back up and chokeslammed the beast to what might be the biggest pop of the night. Oba hit the Fall from Grace to an even bigger pop and the win.
After the match, Brock Lesnar removed his gear and appeared to retire, but Paul Heyman still owes Gunther a favor after saving him from Seth Rollins. That favor just might be Brock Lesnar’s last match.
This match was absolute insanity, averaging about one crazy spot every 30 seconds. It was the antithesis of last night’s ad-filled WrestleMania show.
Fans chanted “Rusev Day” as he found himself alone in the ring with a ladder following a slew of dives from Dragon Lee, Penta and Je’Von Evans. Rey Mysterio got in on the fun with a ladder-assisted 619.
Penta and Rey teamed up for a flying senton splash through a ladder. Fans chanted “holy s—t” after the picture-perfect spot.
Penta hit an insane Mexican Destroyer off the ladder and through another ladder. Je’Von Evans reached the apex of the ladder only for Rusev to remove it and leave Evans hanging. Je’Von came crashing down, and Rusev climbed the ladder. Je’Von had other plans as he hit an amazing OG Cutter off the top rope.
As Evans started to climb the ladder, Penta hit a step-up Mexican Destroyer and retrieved the title. Amazing match to end an excellent ESPN debut.
