The TCU women's basketball program is facing a significant roster shift, with junior guard Donovyn Hunter announcing her decision to enter the transfer portal. This move comes after two impactful seasons with the Horned Frogs, where she evolved from a key bench contributor to a full-time starter.

Hunter, a 6-foot guard from Medford, Oregon, brought a wealth of experience to Fort Worth, having begun her collegiate career as a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honoree at Oregon State. At TCU, she became known as one of the team's premier defenders. Her sophomore season saw her average 5.8 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.6 rebounds, playing a vital role off the bench in TCU's historic run to its first-ever Elite Eight.

Elevated to a starting role as a junior, Hunter's production increased, averaging 9.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 45.2% from the field. Her two-way play was instrumental in helping the Horned Frogs return to the Elite Eight during the 2025-26 season, cementing her status as a reliable backcourt leader.

Hunter's departure is part of a larger exodus for TCU. She is the third player to enter the portal this offseason, joining freshman center Emily Hunter and senior forward Aaliyah Roberson. The program is also losing a core of graduate transfers and seniors, including notable names like Olivia Miles and Maddie Scherr, marking a period of major transition for the Elite Eight contenders.
