A pair of transfer portal additions has strengthened the 2026-27 Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball roster.

The Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball roster for the 2026-27 season is taking exciting shape, bolstered by two significant additions from the transfer portal. Head coach Robin Pingeton, entering her second year at the helm, has moved decisively to address the departure of last season's top scorers.

Pingeton's new recruits bring immediate star power and production. Addie Deal arrives as a former five-star recruit, while Kadidia Toure averaged a double-double last season. Their arrival in Madison is timely, filling the void left by the graduation of leading scorer Destiny Howell and the portal exit of Kyrah Daniels, one of four Badgers to transfer.

The roster transformation is substantial. Alongside Howell, four other players graduated, and three more entered the portal with Daniels. This leaves Laci Steele as the sole returning starter, creating both a challenge and an opportunity for Coach Pingeton to build a new core. Steele and Toure will provide senior leadership, but the search for long-term stability in the starting lineup continues.

Sophomore Dorja Iva Zaja, who started four games as a freshman, is a prime candidate to step into a larger role. Beyond her, the returning players have seen limited action, placing a premium on the development of returnees like Nikki Kerstein and the immediate impact of the transfer duo.

The future looks bright with a strong incoming freshman class. The Badgers secured three in-state recruits—Adaline Sheplee, Leah Nordin, and Giselle Janowski—on National Signing Day, bringing the total roster count to 11. The blend of proven transfer talent and promising freshmen sets the stage for a new era of Badgers basketball, as Pingeton molds a competitive team for the tough Big Ten conference.
