The Wisconsin Badgers' frontcourt just got a major boost, and the program's legends are buzzing about it. Former Badger greats Brad Davison and Sam Dekker took to social media to celebrate the commitment of 6-foot-10 forward Victory Onuetu, a transfer from Hofstra.

Onuetu brings a unique blend of experience and potential to Madison. After a solid freshman season at Hofstra where he averaged 4.7 points and 6.9 rebounds, he arrives with a professional background, having played overseas. Notably, he was teammates with current Wisconsin assistant coach Brad Davison at Monbus Obradoiro in Spain during the 2024-25 season.

That existing connection clearly paid off. Davison, now on Greg Gard's coaching staff, was quick to welcome his former teammate, posting "Boom!! Welcome to the Badger Family" on X. His inside knowledge of Onuetu's work ethic and game was undoubtedly a key factor in this recruitment win.

The praise didn't stop there. Former Badger star and NBA veteran Sam Dekker, who also played with Onuetu in Spain, offered a glowing endorsement. Dekker highlighted the young forward's "raw potential" and "physicality," calling him "a terrific kid" who will be "an impactful player in the ways Wisconsin hasn’t had in many years."

For Badger fans, this is exciting news. Onuetu is expected to immediately compete for significant minutes in a frontcourt anchored by Nolan Winter. His size, athleticism, and professional pedigree address a clear need, adding a new dimension to Wisconsin's physical Big Ten identity. This commitment signals the coaching staff's strong recruiting reach and their focus on adding versatile, high-ceiling talent to build on last season's foundation.
