Wisconsin men's basketball has signed another offensive weapon via the transfer portal.

The Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball program has secured a significant offensive boost for the 2026-27 season, signing Miami (Ohio) transfer Eian Elmer. The 6-foot-7 wing, known for his scoring prowess, brings a coveted combination of size and shooting to Madison.

Elmer arrives after a standout 2025-26 campaign where he averaged 12.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Most impressively, he shot a blistering 42.9% from beyond the arc, a skill that will be vital for a Badgers team looking to space the floor. His efficient scoring was a key factor in Miami's remarkable 32-2 season and NCAA Tournament appearance.

"We are really excited to add another excellent addition," said head coach Greg Gard. "Eian brings a wealth of experience and scoring punch as a 6-7 wing. A terrific shooter, his skillset and production fit excellently into our plan... we truly believe he will thrive in our system."

Elmer represents the third major transfer portal acquisition for Wisconsin this offseason, joining former George Washington guard Trey Autry and former Hofstra forward Victory Onuetu. With the departure of key contributors like John Blackwell and Aleksas Bieliauskas to the portal, and the graduation of veterans Nick Boyd and Andrew Rohde, Gard is actively rebuilding his roster. Nolan Winter is projected to be the lone returning starter, making these portal additions crucial for maintaining competitiveness in the tough Big Ten.

The signing of Elmer fills a specific need for a versatile, scoring wing and leaves the Badgers with three remaining scholarship spots to address as they prepare for the upcoming season. For Badgers fans eager to support the new-look team, the anticipation for next year is already building.
