The Pittsburgh Steelers might have their quarterback of the future.

With the No. 76 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Steelers have selected Penn State quarterback Drew Allar.

This is the second straight year the Steelers have drafted a quarterback after the team took Will Howard in the sixth round in 2025.

We don't think this is an indication either way about Aaron Rodgers, who the Steelers are still waiting for.

Instead, this is Pittsburgh hedging its bet on finding a quarterback of the future.

We do think this is bad news for Howard, as it doesn't exactly show a ton of confidence that the young signal-caller can be "the guy" in Pittsburgh.

At 6-foot-5 and 228 pounds, Allar has the ideal size for a quarterback.

He has a big arm that can make all the throws, although he deals with inconsistency with his touch and ball placement.
