The Premier League has officially announced the match officials for Matchweek 35, and all eyes are on the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal prepare to host Fulham this Saturday afternoon. It's a crucial fixture for the Gunners as they push for the title, so the referee appointment is bound to spark plenty of debate among fans.

Jarred Gillett will take charge of the match, with Simon Long and Steve Meredith running the lines. Rob Jones will serve as the fourth official, while Peter Bankes handles VAR duties alongside assistant Adrian Holmes.

Gillett's appointment is sure to raise a few eyebrows among Arsenal supporters—not because of his ability, but because he's a self-confessed Liverpool fan. However, with the Reds already out of the title race, this shouldn't be a major concern. Arsenal are only competing with Manchester City at the top, and they've already mathematically finished above Liverpool. In fact, they need just one point from their final four games to secure a finish above Manchester United as well.

The more pressing worry might be fourth official Rob Jones. Recent data from the Key Match Incidents panel shows Jones has been responsible for five of the 12 league-wide errors this season involving second yellow cards not being shown. That's a worrying stat for any team, and Arsenal fans will be hoping his services aren't needed on the day.

As for VAR Peter Bankes, his record with Arsenal this season is a mixed bag. In the four games he's refereed, Arsenal won two (against Spurs and Chelsea) but lost two (against Aston Villa and Manchester City). That said, he didn't issue any penalties or red cards in those matches, so the results weren't directly down to his decisions.

With so much at stake, Arsenal will be hoping the officials stay out of the spotlight and let the football do the talking. Kick-off at the Emirates is fast approaching, and the stage is set for a thrilling encounter.
