The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back from a weather delay to take Wednesday's matinee against the St. Louis Cardinals, securing a decisive 6-2 victory to close out the series. While the team has faced its share of offensive struggles this season, two key players made their long-awaited returns count in a big way.

After missing time with fractured left hands, both outfielder Jackson Chourio and designated hitter Andrew Vaughn have wasted no time making an impact. Chourio, who went a perfect 4-for-4 in his season debut during Monday's loss, followed up with another strong performance—going 2-for-5 with an RBI, including a crucial insurance double in the ninth inning that brought Sal Frelick home.

Vaughn, meanwhile, saved his best for Wednesday. After an 0-for-4 outing on Monday, he erupted in the top of the first inning with a three-run home run to left-center field, giving the Brewers an early 4-0 lead. He wasn't done there—adding a sharp single in the eighth inning to finish the day 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored.

On the mound, the Brewers' pitching staff continues to find stability in reliever Aaron Ashby. After starter Brandon Sproat worked four solid innings (five strikeouts, three walks, one hit allowed), Ashby took over and delivered two scoreless innings, striking out one while allowing just a single walk. His effort followed a clean inning from DL Hall, who added a strikeout of his own without allowing a hit or run.

For a team navigating injuries and inconsistent performances, performances like these—from both the bats and the bullpen—are exactly what the Brewers need to stay competitive in the division.
