Sellout crowds, electric atmospheres, and some historic individual performances are some of the best things that make the Indian Premier League (IPL) what it is today.
We have already experienced some insane pyrotechnics with the bat this season. On Monday, Tilak Verma became only the third player after Sanju Samson and Quinton de Kock to score a 100 in an IPL game.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the fastest centuries scored in IPL.
The record for IPL’s fastest century is held by none other than The Universe Boss, Christopher Henry Gayle.
In a game against Pune Warriors India, on April 23, 2013, Chris Gayle embellished the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium by bringing up his century in just 30 balls. It’s a record that stands to this day.
Gayle went on to score an unbeaten 175 and helped the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) post 263-5 on the board, the highest total by a team in IPL history.
