There are many Cowboys entering the offseason needing to prove themselves, but who is at the top of that list?

The Dallas Cowboys are officially shifting gears from rookie minicamp to OTAs, and the real competition is about to heat up at The Star. With less than a month before organized team activities begin, every player on the roster knows this is the time to make their mark—or risk falling behind.

For some, it's about fighting for a roster spot. For others, it's a make-or-break moment that could define their entire NFL career. So, which young Cowboy is facing the most pressure this offseason?

There are plenty of candidates worth considering. Tight end Luke Schoonmaker, cornerback DaRon Bland, and offensive tackle Tyler Guyton all come to mind. But the player who might be flying under the radar—and carrying the heaviest weight—is running back Jaydon Blue.

When the Cowboys drafted Blue last season, expectations were high. He was viewed as a potential game-changer for Brian Schottenheimer's offense, a dynamic back who could add a new dimension to the ground game. But things didn't go as planned.

According to our own Mike Fisher, Blue struggled with pad level and lacked the patience to let running lanes develop. Instead of using his blazing speed to find open space, he often ran straight into trouble. It took until Week 18 for Blue to finally see the field as a starter, and while he showed flashes of his potential, consistency remains a major question mark.

Let's not forget—Blue was a fifth-round pick. The Cowboys have shown they're not afraid to move on from late-round selections if they don't see enough progress. With Javonte Williams locked in as the starter, the competition behind him is getting crowded. Malik Davis, who leapfrogged Blue last season, is still in the mix, along with rookie Phil Mafah.

If we're being honest, Blue needs to separate himself from the pack—and fast. Fisher has described the Cowboys' vision as a "thunder and lightning" backfield, and Blue has the speed to be the lightning. But potential only gets you so far. This offseason, it's time for Jaydon Blue to prove he's more than just a fast runner. It's time to show he belongs.
