Former Newcastle defender John Anderson believes some of the four summer signings made last year could be moved on when the next transfer window opens. Yoane Wissa, Nick Woltemade, Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Elanga all joined Newcastle last summer, and have all yet to break into the first-team with regular game time. "It's going to be an interesting summer," said Anderson.

Newcastle United's summer spending spree last year brought in four high-profile names: Yoane Wissa, Nick Woltemade, Jacob Ramsey, and Anthony Elanga. But as the season winds down, the big question is—who will stick, and who will be shown the door?

Former Newcastle defender John Anderson doesn't mince words. "It's going to be an interesting summer," he says. "Wissa possibly. I don't think he will get rid of Elanga or Ramsey."

Let's break down each player's situation:

Yoane Wissa: The forward has been largely invisible due to persistent injuries. "We basically haven't seen him," Anderson admits. If he can stay fit, Wissa could still prove his worth—but that's a big if.

Nick Woltemade: This one's been a head-scratcher. Woltemade started strong, bagging goals early on, but then got shuffled between midfield and attack. "They couldn't find a position for him," Anderson notes. "You can see in his body language that he's not happy." He looks like the most likely to move on.

Jacob Ramsey: The young midfielder faces a brutal reality: Eddie Howe's first-choice trio of Joelinton, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimaraes is almost untouchable. "Ramsey is unfortunate," Anderson says. With that kind of competition, regular minutes are a tough ask.

Anthony Elanga: Signed from Nottingham Forest as a marquee addition, Elanga hasn't clicked yet. "His strength is his pace—there's no doubt about it," Anderson says. But the training ground transition hasn't been smooth. Still, Howe is optimistic: "The best is yet to come." Anderson adds, "We all keep our fingers crossed that's going to be the case."

For Newcastle fans, the summer window will be a litmus test. Which of these four will finally break into the first-team rotation? And who will be packing their bags? One thing's for sure: with Howe at the helm and the squad tightening, every player will need to earn their stripes—or find a new home.
