The NFL Draft has come and gone, leaving us with a quiet stretch before the season kicks off—but that doesn't mean the conversations have to stop. Let's dive into the picks that turned heads and the teams that made bold moves.

One of the biggest storylines of the offseason has been the rumored trade of AJ Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. While many outlets treat it as inevitable, there's been little concrete evidence—until now. The Eagles moved up in the first round to draft USC wide receiver Makai Lemon, signaling a clear shift in their offensive future. It's hard to think of a team that made a louder statement about their direction, unless you count the Rams' surprise pick of Ty Simpson.

Speaking of the Rams, their first-round selection of quarterback Ty Simpson caught me off guard. Simpson may be the second-best QB in this class, but that's not saying much in a weak quarterback pool. With Matthew Stafford potentially retiring after 2026, you'd think the Rams would go all-in for one more run. Instead, they drafted his successor and spent the rest of their picks on players who may not make an immediate impact. For a team usually so savvy in the draft, it felt like an uncharacteristic move.

Over in Los Angeles, the Chargers had a clear need at offensive guard, and fans were hopeful they'd snag an impact player on Day 1 or 2. But the Cardinals swooped in early on Day 2 to grab my favorite guard prospect, Texas A&M's Chase Bisontis, before the Chargers could even get close. LA traded back and selected Florida center Jake Slaughter, who never played a snap at guard in college. It's hard to see how that solves their big issue, especially when Bisontis felt like a perfect fit at pick No. 55.

And then there's the Dallas Cowboys, who drafted Caleb Downs—and I couldn't be more thrilled. This is the kind of pick that makes you believe in a team's vision for the future.
