The Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team has officially bolstered its backcourt, announcing the addition of George Washington transfer Trey Autry. Head coach Greg Gard, securing his first offseason portal commitment, shared his enthusiasm for the new guard.

"We are very excited to have Trey coming to Wisconsin," Gard said in a team social media post. "He brings some size, physicality, and experience to our backcourt."

Gard highlighted Autry's pedigree and skill set, noting, "As a son of a coach, his basketball IQ is high and his ability to stretch defenses from 3 is a great asset to our offensive balance. We are looking forward to beginning preparation for next season when he gets to Madison this summer."

The 6-foot-4 guard arrives with significant experience, having been a three-year starter for the Revolutionaries. He's coming off a career-best season, averaging 11.0 points per game while starting all 34 contests in 2025-26. Over the last two seasons, Autry has started 53 games and consistently averaged double-digit scoring.

This move addresses a key need for the Badgers, adding a proven, physical guard to the rotation. Autry is expected to join forces with Australian point guard Owen Foxwell, giving Wisconsin a more seasoned and versatile backcourt as they build towards the upcoming season.
