Every team has a hole in its roster, but where does the Washington Commanders' roster need the most love?

Every NFL roster has a weak spot, and for the Washington Commanders, the big question is: where does their depth chart need the most work after the 2025 NFL Draft?

As the Commanders head into rookie minicamp this weekend, it's the perfect time to take stock of where general manager Adam Peters has focused his energy. His top priority this offseason was clear—making the defense younger and faster. Free agency took care of most of that makeover, and the draft picks of linebacker Sonny Styles and edge rusher Joshua Josephs put the finishing touches on a revitalized defensive unit.

On the offensive side, Peters knew he had to shore up the line and give quarterback Jayden Daniels more firepower. Re-signing Laremy Tunsil was a major win, and drafting center Matt Gulbin adds some much-needed help. But with Tyler Biadasz now out of the picture, the offensive line still looks thin—especially at the center position. Peters did stock the cupboard with added weapons: Antonio Williams, Chig Okonkwo, returning wideout Dyami Brown, and running backs Rachaad White and Kaytron Allen. But whether any of them will truly make an impact remains to be seen.

So, what's the Commanders' biggest roster hole? According to ESPN's Aaron Schatz, the answer is at wide receiver.

Behind star Terry McLaurin, there's a collection of players all hoping to finally break out. Can Treylon Burks step into a starting role after three rough seasons in Tennessee and just a handful of notable catches in 2025? Will Luke McCaffrey build on his 11-catch, 203-yard, three-touchdown sophomore campaign? Or is rookie third-rounder Antonio Williams ready for prime time? The team also has Jaylin Lane, who posted 16 receptions for 225 yards as a rookie last season, and veteran Dyami Brown, who put up 227 yards for Jacksonville in 2025.

To be fair, we don't yet know what Antonio Williams will look like lining up opposite McLaurin. And many around the league still expect the Commanders to make a move for Brandon Aiyuk once the San Francisco 49ers finally move on. So the wide receiver room might be in better shape than it appears. But until the season kicks off, it remains the biggest question mark on an otherwise well-rounded roster.
