The Washington Commanders entered the 2026 NFL Draft with six selections. Washington traded second and fourth-round selections to the Houston Texans in March 2025 for five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil. That trade worked out well for the Commanders, with Tunsil recently signing a new two-year extension, once again making him the NFL's highest-paid offensive lineman.
The Commanders did add a sixth-round pick last summer, trading former starting running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers.
For the second consecutive year, Washington held onto all of its picks, making six selections, beginning with Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles at No. 7 overall.
So, what happened to the picks that the Commanders traded away? Let's find out:
A second-team All-American in 2025, Stukes' stock rose over the last few weeks, with some wondering if he'd make it into the first round. Stukes played in 43 games at Arizona and ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL combine.
The 6-foot-4, 319-pound Nwaiwu began his career at North Texas before transferring to Oklahoma ahead of the 2024 season. He started every game for the Sooners over two years, earning second-team All-SEC and first-team All-American honors. He can play all three interior spots and profiles as a guard at the next level.
In the pick acquired in the Robinson trade, the Commanders land a player who started multiple seasons at guard at Wake Forest before moving to the Big Ten and starting at center in 2025. Many believe Gulbin can contribute early in his career, perhaps as soon as this season.
