BLOOMINGTON — Darian DeVries is putting the finishing touches on his second Indiana basketball roster, and with each passing week, his offseason checklist is getting shorter.

Just days after mentioning the need for more frontcourt depth, the Hoosiers head coach checked that box with the commitment of German 7-footer Clemens Sokolov. It was a swift move that not only addressed a key area but also highlighted a growing strength: a freshman class that's been quietly impressive amid the noise of the spring transfer portal.

Between his high school signees and transfer additions, DeVries has already reloaded significant portions of the roster. Now, with summer workouts on the horizon, the focus shifts to fine-tuning.

"We've got good depth at most positions," DeVries said. "The remaining focus is on just adding a little more depth in a couple areas, just to cover us from a practice standpoint, from an injury standpoint. That's our priority with these last couple."

For Hoosier fans eyeing next season, the message is clear: the foundation is set, and the final pieces are about to fall into place.
