Kade Wede delivered a masterclass on the mound Thursday, showcasing his best stuff of the season to power the Harrisburg baseball team to a commanding 7-3 victory over Sioux Falls Jefferson. The win extends Harrisburg's impressive streak to five games in a row, signaling a team hitting its stride at the perfect time.

Wede was simply electric, baffling hitters with a three-pitch mix that was on point from the first inning. His fastball had serious zip, generating uncomfortable swings, while his cutter induced weak contact and his slider buckled knees for strikeouts. The result was a dominant six-inning outing where the junior right-hander racked up a staggering 13 strikeouts, surrendering just one earned run on five hits.

"I was getting good swing and misses as well as rollovers," Wede said post-game. "I was trying to keep the ball down, really allowing my defense to work. Pitches were executed and I was putting it in the zone." His confidence in his arsenal, particularly his hard fastball, was evident. "I throw it pretty hard so I would say that's a hard pitch for a lot of hitters to hit in South Dakota. I rely on that and I have a lot of confidence in it."

Harrisburg head coach Tony Lanier praised his workhorse, noting Wede was near his peak form. The key for a pitcher with such explosive stuff is harnessing it consistently, and Wede did exactly that, mixing his sequencing expertly to keep Jefferson's lineup off balance all day.

While Wede's arm stole the show, the victory was a complete team effort that underscores the focus and execution needed to build a winning streak. For players at every level, from high school diamonds to weekend leagues, performances like this are a reminder of the power of confidence in your gear and trusting your preparation when you step onto the field.
