With the match deadlocked at 1-1 in the 89th minute, Kenza Dali delivered a pinpoint corner kick that found Kimmi Ascanio, who powered a header past the Washington goalkeeper to seal the win. The late heroics propelled the Wave to a 7-3-0 record and sole possession of first place.
The Wave struck early, as Trinity Byars netted her first professional goal in the seventh minute to give San Diego the lead. However, Washington's Rebeca Bernal leveled the score in the 33rd minute, setting the stage for Ascanio's late winner. The Spirit now sit at 5-2-3 after seeing their hot streak come to an end.

In Kansas City, forward Temwa Chawinga was unstoppable, scoring her fourth and fifth goals of the season to lead the Current to a dominant 3-0 victory over Houston. Goalkeeper Lorena recorded five saves for her second consecutive shutout as Kansas City improved to 5-4-1. The Dash (3-5-1) have now gone five games without a win.
Boston showed resilience despite playing a man down for much of the match, battling to a 1-1 draw with Bay FC. In the 42nd minute, Boston defender Bianca St-Georges received her second red card of the season for violent conduct on Claire Hutton. Bay FC capitalized in the 50th minute when Dorian Bailey unleashed a left-footed strike to take the lead. But Boston refused to quit, and Amanda Gutierres equalized from the penalty spot in the 64th minute. The Legacy now sit at 2-5-3, while Bay FC holds a 3-3-2 record.
