The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Storm softball team has made history, capturing its first combined Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) championship with a thrilling 7-6 victory over Lansing in a rain-soaked showdown on Thursday, May 14, at Watkins Glen High School.

This hard-fought win came just two days after the Storm, also known as Schuyler Storm, defeated Thomas A. Edison 8-5 in a tiebreaker to claim the IAC South Large School title. The back-to-back triumphs mark a remarkable milestone for the program, which has been on a steady rise since the merger of Watkins Glen and Odessa-Montour prior to the 2023 season.

The Storm's journey to the top has been nothing short of impressive. After finishing 10-6 in 2024, the team surged to a 15-3 record last year, showcasing their growing chemistry and talent. This season, they've elevated their game even further, now standing at 16-4. Their only losses have come against formidable opponents: two from outside Section 4 and two to Section 4 perennial state powers Deposit-Hancock and Edison.
