Thursday night did not go as planned for Pittsburgh Steelers fans. 320,000 NFL fans showed up for the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, most of which were Steeler Nation and they showed up to see the Steelers hit a home run with their pick.

Instead, the Steelers got duped by the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys when they thought they have USC wide receiver Makai Lemon and the team ended up going with Arizona State offensive tackle Max Iheanachor. This did not go over well by the Steelers fans in attendance. A video from the draft is going viral on the internet showing the almost stunned silence in the theater by Pittsburgh fans after former Steeler Jerome Bettis announces the pick.

The draft gets going again on Friday night and the Steelers have four picks. The hope is the front office will be able to recover from Thursday's debacle and get back on track.
