On Wednesday—exactly ten years after being selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft—Simmons signed a one-day contract to retire as a Bronco, bringing his remarkable career full circle.

"From a fan perspective, I did my best with what we were going through, and it was a lot," Simmons shared. "There was a lot of head coach turnover. It’s weird too, because there was an ownership thing happening, and you have to focus on football and winning games. It was hard. I hope the legacy I left is that I was a guy who really did care and passionately cared. I wanted to win, and it didn’t work out. I’m so glad they are winning now, and it’s awesome."
