The Washington Huskies women's basketball program has made a significant addition to its frontcourt, securing a commitment from North Carolina State transfer Tilda Trygger. The 6-foot-6 sophomore forward from Stockholm, Sweden, announced her move to Montlake on Saturday, becoming the Huskies' second portal acquisition this offseason.

Trygger brings immediate size and proven production to a roster looking to build on last season's NCAA Tournament run. As a sophomore for the Wolfpack, she started all 30 games, averaging an impressive 10.6 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per contest. Her ability to protect the rim and control the glass will be a major asset in the competitive Big Ten.

Her arrival is particularly timely for Coach Tina Langley, who is tasked with replacing five departing seniors. Trygger is expected to slot into a starting role at the four or five position, forming a formidable frontcourt partnership with All-Big Ten Freshman Team honoree Brynn McGaughy. Her skill set as a catch-and-shoot threat and a relentless rebounder should provide Washington with crucial second-chance opportunities.

Trygger's pedigree is well-established. She earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors in her first year at NC State, where she showcased her defensive prowess by recording the eighth-most blocks in a single season in school history. This track record of immediate impact suggests she could be a cornerstone player for the Huskies as they aim for deeper postseason success in the 2026-27 season.
