The Washington Huskies' backcourt could be getting a major boost from a familiar face. Head coach Danny Sprinkle may be eyeing a reunion with VCU guard Terrence Hill Jr., who has entered the transfer portal.

Hill, a 6-foot-3 sophomore from Portland, Oregon, was originally committed to Sprinkle at Utah State before following a different path to VCU. That path led to a breakout season where he became one of the nation's most impactful two-way players. Hill earned All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors, was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and even took home Sixth Man of the Year accolades.

His sophomore campaign was highlighted by a stunning 34-point performance in VCU's NCAA Tournament upset over North Carolina. For the season, he averaged 15 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting a solid 37% from three-point range.

For the Huskies, the timing could be perfect. With sophomore star Zoom Diallo and key freshmen JJ Mandaquit and Courtland Muldrew entering the portal, Sprinkle needs to rebuild his guard rotation. Adding a proven, high-motor player like Hill would bring immediate scoring, elite defense, and valuable experience to Montlake.

However, securing his commitment won't be a sure thing. While Sprinkle's established relationship is a major asset, a Pacific Northwest battle could be brewing. The Oregon Ducks, led by coach Dana Altman, are also in the market for backcourt talent and could make a strong push to bring the Roosevelt High School product closer to home.

After significant roster turnover in his first two seasons, establishing continuity is a top priority for Sprinkle. Pursuing a player of Hill's caliber, with whom he already has a strong connection, represents a strategic move to add a cornerstone piece for the future.
