The Golden State Warriors may not have the flashiest free-agent options this summer, but that doesn't mean they should overlook a hidden gem who could provide a major boost to Stephen Curry and the squad. According to NBA analyst Peter O'Keefe of Blue Man Hoop, a familiar face from the Boston Celtics—fan-favorite center Robert Williams III—could be the perfect under-the-radar pickup for the Dubs in 2026-27.

Williams, who signed a $12 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, has had his share of injury setbacks, but when healthy, he's a dynamic two-way force. In a recent playoff series, Williams showcased his value, averaging 9.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks through the first four games. He followed that up with a solid 11-point, seven-rebound performance off the bench, proving he can still energize a team on both ends of the floor.

Standing at just 6-foot-9, Williams might be undersized for a center, but his pogo-stick athleticism and relentless hustle made him an instant hit with Celtics fans early in his career. His best season came in 2021-22, when he averaged 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks, helping Boston reach the NBA Finals. Since then, injuries have slowed him down, but his ability to protect the rim, crash the boards, and finish above the rim makes him a valuable asset for any contender.

For the Warriors, adding a player like Williams could be especially crucial with Kristaps Porzingis potentially on the move. While Golden State will likely explore bigger trade targets, signing a proven, high-energy center who can step in and contribute meaningful minutes might be the smart, cost-effective move to keep Curry and the Dubs in championship contention.
