The Arizona high school softball playoffs are in full swing, and this week's standout athletes have delivered performances worthy of the spotlight. From clutch home runs to dominant pitching, here are The Republic's top 10 players for May 4-9, 2026. Leading off, a star powered her team to a commanding 9-1 victory over defending 6A state champion Xavier Prep, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs, a double, and a triple. Another slugger made her mark in the 2A playoffs, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs while also striking out seven batters in an 8-1 win over Horizon Honors.

On the mound, a pitcher delivered two complete-game shutouts in the 5A tournament, allowing just four total hits and striking out 18 batters against Centennial and Willow Canyon. In a thrilling 12-11 6A playoff win over Desert Vista, a hitter launched two home runs—in the first and sixth innings—to spark a rally for the Pioneers.

Another ace threw a complete game in a 3-1 playoff win over Basha, striking out 11 while allowing only two walks and six hits. In a 5-2 6A elimination win over Highland, a pitcher went the distance, giving up nine hits and one earned run while fanning eight. Chaparral's hurler also shined, allowing seven hits and two runs with 12 strikeouts and just two walks in a 4-2 5A playoff win over Canyon View.

At the plate, a standout went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs in an 8-1 playoff win over Horizon Honors, adding to her state-record 303 career RBIs. Finally, in a 9-2 3A playoff win over Empire, a pitcher tossed seven innings of three-hit ball, striking out eight without allowing an earned run, and also drove in a run at the plate.
