Our previous winners—Julia Seewald, Sophia Zupancic, Cailey Deacon, and Madeline August—set the bar high, and the new nominees are ready to follow in their footsteps. Coaches, don't forget to submit your game reports and nominate one player from your team by Sunday afternoon to keep the competition fierce and fair.
Now, let's talk about the jaw-dropping stats that earned these athletes a spot on the ballot. From explosive scoring to game-changing saves, here's a glimpse of the action:
One player lit up the scoreboard with six goals in a dominant 20-11 win over Kingston on April 28, followed by two more goals against Beacon and three against Averill Park. Another star notched a hat trick in the Wizards' 14-2 victory over Burke on April 27, while a fierce competitor scored three goals for the Bears despite a tough 14-4 loss to Washingtonville.
Defense got its due, too, with one goalie making an impressive 14 saves in a 20-11 loss to Warwick. On the offensive end, a player delivered 10 goals in an 18-9 win over Pine Bush, while another racked up five goals to lead the Crusaders past Lourdes. The assists were just as flashy—one athlete dished out three goals and four assists in a 19-0 shutout of Wallkill, then added three more goals against Newburgh.
Other standout performances include a five-goal effort in an 8-7 win over Washingtonville, a six-goal barrage in a 15-7 victory over North Rockland, and a nine-goal, six-assist masterpiece in a 22-6 rout of Kingston. From the Tigers' 12-8 win over Pine Bush to the Goldbacks' 15-11 triumph over Beacon, these athletes brought their A-game.
