The St. James Academy Strivers, currently ranked No. 1 in the state, have officially unveiled their 2026 schedule—and it's a gauntlet of national powerhouses that will test every ounce of their championship mettle.
Coming off a dominant 2025 campaign that saw them crush Canada's Clarkson Football North 76-42, shut out Maryland's Good Counsel 47-3, and edge out The First Academy in a thrilling 41-40 victory in Orlando, the Strivers have proven they belong on the big stage. Now, they're doubling down on that ambition with a slate that reads like a who's who of elite high school football.
Head coach Darryl Overton made it clear why his team is seeking out the toughest competition. "We want to continue to play the best year in and year out to push ourselves as players and staff," Overton told Rivals. "The St. James is dedicated to providing our student athletes with the best experience. The only downside to our schedule is that local teams outside of LSA don't seem interested in playing—which could be some great matchups for our area."
The Strivers have already made waves in the offseason, adding three-star running back Darren Williams and wide receiver Khalil Ferguson to an already loaded roster out of the DMV region. These transfers bolster what is arguably one of the most talented teams in the nation, and they'll need every bit of that firepower when they face off against the likes of Las Vegas' Bishop Gorman, Florida's IMG Academy, and Baltimore's St. Frances Academy.
