Bayern Munich have been heavily linked to Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon in recent days despite the less than kind words the Englishman had about Karl-Heinz Rummenigge less than 12 months ago. Regardless, the former Everton player seems open to a move and talks seem to be accelerating.

Now, according to a report from German reporter Florian Plettenberg (and captured by @iMiaSanMia), head coach Vincent Kompany has given his approval for the transfer:

Vincent Kompany has approved the transfer of Anthony Gordon. The coach supports a potential move for the Englishman. Talks are ongoing with the player’s camp, but not yet with Newcastle.

These reports are a guarantee to be the truth of the matter. However, there is reason to believe that this transfer could be wrapped up quickly. In 2025, Newcastle were forced to sell some high value players before June 30, the Profit and Sustainability Regulations deadline of the Premier League, in order to balance the books. If the Tyneside club is forced into the same situation again, Bayern could theoretically seal the transfer before the German transfer window even opens.
