The Minnesota Vikings are wasting no time in their search for a new General Manager, casting a wide net that now includes three more top-tier executives. According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, the team has requested interviews with Lions assistant GM Ray Agnew, Broncos assistant GM Reed Burckhardt, and Dolphins assistant GM Kyle Smith.

These latest additions bring the Vikings' list of external candidates to nine, alongside internal candidate Rob Brzezinski. It's a deep and diverse pool that reflects the franchise's commitment to finding the right leader for the future.

Ray Agnew has been a key figure in Detroit since joining the Lions in 2021 alongside GM Brad Holmes. Before that, he sharpened his eye for talent as the Rams' director of player personnel, helping build a roster that would eventually capture a Super Bowl.

Reed Burckhardt brings a unique blend of fresh perspective and familiar roots. After spending 13 years with the Vikings as a pro scout, he moved to Denver in 2022 to become the Broncos' director of player personnel. That insider knowledge of Minnesota's organization could prove invaluable.

Kyle Smith is in his first season with the Dolphins, but his résumé is anything but green. He spent three years as the Falcons' assistant GM (2023-25) and rose through the Commanders' ranks over a decade, eventually becoming vice president of player personnel before heading to Atlanta in 2021.

The Vikings' full candidate list now reads like a who's who of NFL front-office talent: Chargers assistant GM Chad Alexander, 49ers assistant GM RJ Gillen, Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray, Rams assistant GM John McKay, Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasely, and Titans assistant GM Dave Ziegler. With this much firepower in the mix, the Vikings are clearly aiming for a home run hire.
