Vega Ioane Models His Game After the NFL’s BestIf you want to understand how a player develops, look at who they study. For Vega Ioane, that list includes some of the best offensive linemen in football, players known for physicality, consistency, and dominance in the trenches. For the former Penn State star Ioane, studying players like Quenton Nelson, Trent Williams, and others reflects the blueprint he’s following as he begins his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. Each of those elite players brings a different element — physicality, technique, and consistency — and Ioane's willingness to learn from the best suggests he’s focused on refining his craft and developing into a dependable presence up front.
When asked who he watched and modeled his game after, Ioane didn’t hesitate.
“I was a big Quenton Nelson fan. I watched a lot of his film, and a lot of Zion Johnson film. I'd say Peter [Skoronski] from the Titans as well. I [watched] a lot of those films and Trent Williams; I watched a lot of his film as well. I know he's a tackle, but he plays really well.”
That's a strong foundation. Those aren't just big names, they're tone-setters. And if Ioane can translate even part of what he's studied, the Ravens are getting a player who understands what elite looks like.
