USC star wide receiver Makai Lemon is just a few hours away from finding out which team he will begin his NFL career with. Lemon is one of the top receivers in the draft and is projected to be a top-15 pick.

There are multiple teams that could benefit from the addition of the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner. The Los Angeles Rams have the No. 13 pick and are one team that has been consistently linked to Lemon leading up to the draft.

Lemon told reporters he has imagined himself playing with different teams and described the Rams as a “perfect fit” for his play style.

“I feel like it’d be a perfect fit, definitely,” Lemon said, per the California Post. “Just adding my play style, adding what I can do to the team.”

Playing alongside star wide receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams would also be a major advantage for Lemon in his rookie season. Adams is a six-time Pro Bowler with 12 seasons of NFL experience. Meanwhile, Nacua had one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history in 2023 and could be a long-term partner for Lemon on the Rams.

“Just learning from them guys,” Lemon said, per the California Post.  “They’ve had so much production and been in the league and seen so much and done so much. So, to be alongside them would mean a lot.”

The Rams have not shared many details about their plans for the No. 13 pick. However, Rams general manager Les Snead has expressed several times that Lemon impressed him during his 2025 season with USC.

At the NFL’s Annual Meeting on April 1, Snead called Lemon “a good football player” when Kay Adams suggested the Rams draft Lemon with the No. 13 pick.

Snead has two children who attend USC, so he got to watch Lemon in action throughout the 2025 season. Snead explained how it felt like the team could rely on Lemon to catch any pass that was thrown his way.

“When you saw the ball go up and it was heading toward Lemon’s hands, you always felt like he’d bring it down,” Snead said this week, per the California Post.

The first-round of the NFL Draft begins Thursday at 5 pm PT, and there’s a strong possibility Lemon could be staying close to home.
