Another USC draft pick has signed his NFL rookie contract

It was a big day for former USC wide receivers in the NFL. Just hours after Makai Lemon put pen to paper with the Philadelphia Eagles, fellow Trojan Ja'Kobi Lane officially signed his rookie contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

The deal, as reported by the "Ravens Salary Cap" account, is a four-year contract worth just over $7 million, complete with a signing bonus of approximately $1.6 million. It's a solid payday for the wideout, who now joins one of the league's most dynamic offenses.

Lane's journey to the pros began with a reserve role as a true freshman in 2023, but he quickly emerged as a key starter for the Trojans over the past two seasons. His final stat line in Cardinal and Gold is impressive: 99 receptions for 1,363 yards and 13 touchdowns.

If you're looking for his signature moments, look no further than the bright lights of Las Vegas. In the 2024 season opener against LSU, Lane hauled in a 28-yard touchdown reception that gave USC the lead late in the fourth quarter. Then, in the Las Vegas Bowl against Texas A&M, he put on a show with seven catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns, earning game MVP honors.

Now, as a third-round pick heading to Baltimore, all eyes will be on how Lane carves out his role in a crowded receiving corps. With his big-play ability and clutch gene, he's definitely a rookie to watch this season.
