USC men’s basketball landed its second transfer portal addition to the squad on Monday when UConn center Eric Reibe committed to the Trojans. The first was former Georgetown guard KJ Lewis.

Reibe will replace former USC center Gabe Dynes, who entered the transfer portal on Friday. Reibe is a rising sophomore with three more years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

Reibe was a rotation player for UConn’s Final Four team last season. When senior center Tarris Reed was out for five games at the beginning of the season, Reibe made five starts for the Huskies and averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks while shooting 65% from the field.

But when Reed returned, he became one of the top players in the nation which demoted Reibe to a backup role.

Reibe averaged 6.7 minutes across the six NCAA Tournament games. Meanwhile, Reed won the 2026 NCAA East Region Most Outstanding Player and became the first NCAA player to record at least 30 points and 25 rebounds in a tournament game since 1968.

Reibe likely would have earned a starting role for the Huskies next season now that Reed is out of eligibility. But instead, the 7-foot-1 center will join the Trojans as they look to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023.

Before starting his collegiate career with UConn, Reibe was a top-25 recruit in the high school Class of 2025 and was ranked as the No. 2 center in the nation. The Hanover, Germany native was also a McDonald’s All-American.

The addition of Reibe brings size and youth to USC’s team for next season. Along with Reibe and Lewis, the Trojans will also be adding incoming freshman Adonis Ratliff, Darius Ratliff and Christian Collins to the 2026-27 roster.
